The Evolution of the James Bond Style

Admit it, you want to dress like James Bond; you want to undress like James Bond. When we think about the perfect male figure; British or not, James Bond inevitably features prominently. But what is James Bond really made of? Death defying escapes, a healthy dose of steamy liaison and copious amounts of coolness with a touch of flirtatiousness. However, throughout the years it’s his impeccable style that instantly marks his presence.

Characterised by clean-cut simplicity with elegance and sophistication, James Bond’s style is the result of a meticulous wardrobe, from shoes to suits and eyewear, each item is carefully selected, by renowned costume designers like Emma Porteous, Lindy Hemming and most recently Jany Temime, to perpetuate the glamour of the sex icon.

While some of you are warming up for James Bond season by going to the gym and starting to order vodka martinis, at Shade Station we believe we can help by serving up a style guide showcasing the evolution of James Bond chic for the past 50 years.

Previously in Skyfall (2012) Bond was sporting a Marko FTO144 by Tom Ford, and in Spectre slated to be released in November, we’ve heard on the grapevine he’s going to be wearing a Snowdon FT0237. Wink wink, time to pick up the trail.
